Just to add some information onto this thread if its useful - i just setup my place with ubiquiti and removed the home hub 3000 Note I only have bell fibe internet + ALT TV, if you have real tv you'll need to do some extra work (VLAN36) I removed the SFP from homehub 3000 and put it into tp link which then connects to my router.

I have gotten this to work with Homehub 3000 and TP-Link AC1900. I am also on Bell Aliant. I plugged the AC1900 from LAN1 on Homehub to "Internet" on AC1900 (which is the WAN). Using router with Bell Fibe Home Hub 3000 I used to use Unblock.US and put the DNS addresses right in the Bell 'modem', but still ran my own stronger wifi router.
