Just get the o-ring needed and be on your way. It'll cost you $2. More than likely your heater is fine but at the age of these trucks the rubber parts in the fuel system are all turning to mush. I replaced mine a few years ago and it was beyond simple. Just make sure to get a Viton o-ring so you can forget about it decomposing on you again.

When I idle up the truck and let it down fuel runs out of where the throttle shaft goes through the injector pump. Gonna answer my own questions. I got the fuel screw out and replaced the o-ring. The old one was a little flattened out. 1. No, but the collar does prevent the screw fromm being advanced C.W. for more fuel.

17,604 Posts. #5 · Jan 30, 2012. 9464K24 is correct. You have to remove the line clamps and then take the line off the top of the injector. I took the complete line off but you don't have to. Slather the O ring with petroleum jelly and put the top one on first, then roll the bottom one on. Put the lines back on and torque to 22 Ft/Lbs.
