This is explained on the diagram below. I need a circuit so that the once the infrared beam is broken, the current in the coils is automatically switched for a certain period of time and then reverted back afterwards. The currents I am using in the coils will be very large (in excess of 10A) so this may cause some concern.

When something gets in the way of the beam and breaks it, it will turn a switch on. When the beam goes unbroken, the switch turns off. It will need to be able to cycle fairly quickly (about 15 times per second).
